Raw Macadamia Nut Milk (gluten-free, dairy-free, Vegan)
Let’s face it, almond milk is awesome, but variety is the spice of life, after all… Next time you pass by a heap of raw organic macadamia nuts at your local Farmer’s Market, think about a little DIY milk-making to elevate your breakfast routine.
• Food Processor or Ninja
• Mason jar
• cheesecloth (may substitute for 2 hearty coffee filters if no cheesecloth is available)
Combine all ingredients in Mason jar and let sit overnight. Pour into a food processor for 1-2 minutes or until smooth. Filter back into Mason jar using the coffee filter(s) or cheesecloth. Alternatively, you could skip the filter process, this just gives the milk a little more texture, but it’s still delicious! Feel free to adjust the nut:water ratio for desired texture or taste. Dates may be omitted for those seeking less sugar or a low-carb alternative.
